Cycle for a Cause

Having just participated in a charity 5K road race this past weekend got us thinking about what other events are organized around charities.
If you have a bike - hop on and help knock out Cancer, Diabetes or Multiple Sclerosis or some other bothersome disease!

MS Bike Rides National Multiple Sclerosis Society)
The MS Bike Rides sponsor more than 100 bike tours in the US . Last year, cyclists accumulated more than 10 million miles on the rides, that generally are about 150 miles. Overnight activities are planned for the longer rides, with camping, high-school gyms, or local hotels. . See a list of all the MS Bike Rides.
American Diabetes Association Tour de Cure
The Tour de Cure is a series of rides in some 80 cities in 44 states nationwide, starting as early as March, so register early. In 2011, more than 55,000 cyclists participated in the rides, raising more than $18 million. One-day events of 10 to 100 miles. Dates: The rides for 2017 are listed by state at the website.
Pan-Mass Challenge(Massachusetts)
This is the nation’s biggest endurance sports fund-raiser; 5,500 cyclists raised $41 million for Boston’s Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in 2014. The bike-a-thon participants have a choice of nine different rides, including the original two-day Sturbridge to Provincetown route. Dates: Aug. 5-6, 2017.
