Bought one, tested it with two kids on a trip, just bought another. Used a Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 (original model) and an HP TouchPad, both in cases that are pretty thick. The beautiful thing is that even though the cases were too thick for the mount to clutch the whole thickness, it would latch onto the cover just fine and held/fit like a glove. Terrific product, hope it lasts.

4 1/2 stars. Bought 2 of these for my SUV to hold 7" tablets. They worked great and would recommend for anybody looking at the slim selection of car DVD players to look very closely at using tablets with these sweet mounts instead of those DVD players. These mounts held very solid and were extremely easy to install. The clasps that hold the tablet, the arms, the angles are all adjustable and are cushioned for protection and so the device won't slip. The only suggestion I would make would be to have the clasps extend just a bit further. If your tablet is in a slim case, it likely will fit without removing the case. But I use a bulkier rubber case so the kids don't destroy the tablet and the clasps don't quite extend far enough. Another 3/16 inch would have made the difference. Note that one may have to tight the lock nut on the swivel so that the swivel can lock down securely.

I think this mount might be one of the better ones offered. The quality seems great to me. The components that move/tighten don't need much pressure to do so; so stripping the components that tighten hopefully won't happen, as long as you don't apply too much pressure (mainly at the face plate/neck adjustment). In my opinion, every component that should move - does move in order to fit any tablet that I can think of. I have a Samsung Galaxy tab 3 and an iPad Mini (different body styles), but this thing can adjust to fit either one. I like how it tightens and I like how it has foam guards/protectors so nothing gets scratched.

I nearly purchased a ProClip product at over $130 before seeing this one. At $10 I was hoping for a bargain and feel I got one. I was surprised with how sturdy this mount is and the attention to design detail. There is padding on the surfaces that touches my iPad Mini and on the c-clamps that contact the headrest stems. Besides affording these touch points some degree of compression protection it also keeps them scratch free. It is not necessary to over tighten the c-clamps to get a solid attachment.
I gave this five stars because of the design and construction quality, that it was mostly pre-assembled (not bags of bits) and because of the padding quality. I mu opinion the price is unprecedented .

This is a great bracket for mounting your iPad (or any tablet) to the back of your car seat. The hardware is well made and feels very durable.
I haven't used Gear Beast products in the past, but I was immediately surprised by the quality finish and incredible documentation. Yes, I know it's hard to get excited about good quality instructions, but how many times have you forked over your money and then had to play Sherlock Holmes to solve the mystery of how to assemble and install the device? There's no guesswork with this mount though, because the instructions walk you through it step by step.
This is a fun idea too. You can cue up a video and play it for your backseat passengers. If you can couple that with your Bluetooth stereo or a Bluetooth FM transmitter, you can play back the audio over your car stereo for an even better experience for all your passengers.
Well done, Gear Beast.

Worked great. Kids were able to enjoy their own movies. Used one on a Nexus 7, and one on a Samsung Tab 2. Mounting was easy. Based on some reviews, I was careful not to over-tighten them. Had no issues at all throughout the trip. They do not protrude into the rear space either. Nice and tight config.
